Send to Kindle

Readers add their Kindle address once and send EPUB ebooks to their Kindle from their library. What they need to set up at Amazon.

Readers can send an ebook from their library straight to their Kindle. See also Kindle.

What readers set up once

  1. In their library, open Settings and add their Kindle address. They find it in their Amazon account under Devices. It ends in @kindle.com.
  2. In Amazon’s Personal Document Settings, add the sender address shown in Settings to their approved email list. Without this, Amazon will not accept the email.

Sending a book

Next to an ebook, the reader chooses Send to Kindle. It usually arrives within a few minutes.

Limits

  • Only EPUB ebooks can be sent. PDFs and audiobooks can’t.
  • The file must be 25 MB or smaller. For a larger book, the reader downloads it and uses Amazon’s own Send to Kindle instead.

If it doesn’t arrive

Most of the time the sender address isn’t on the reader’s approved list at Amazon yet. Ask them to check step 2 above and send again.
