Print on demand with BookVault or Lulu

Set up paperbacks and hardcovers printed by BookVault or Lulu. Choose the printer, binding, trim size, paper and page count, and upload your PDFs.

With print on demand, a printer makes each copy when a reader orders it and posts it to them. You keep no stock. Lanternbee works with BookVault and Lulu.

Set up a print edition

  1. Open a title in Books.
  2. Add a Paperback or Hardcover edition, or use the one your Formats settings created. Its fulfilment should be Print on demand.
  3. Under Print details, choose:
    • Printer: BookVault or Lulu.
    • Binding: paperback or hardcover.
    • Trim size: 5x8, 5.25x8, 5.5x8.5 or 6x9 inches.
    • Paper: cream or white.
    • Pages: your page count.
  4. Upload your Interior PDF (up to 500 MB) and Cover PDF (up to 200 MB).
  5. Choose Save print details. You can only save once both PDFs are uploaded.

When the print details are saved, the edition says Ready to sell.

Check your files with the printer

Each printer has its own rules for margins, bleed and spine width. Use the templates and file checks on BookVault’s or Lulu’s own site before you upload.

Coming

Sending each paid order to the printer, and tracking the parcel, arrive with payments, before stores open. The print details you save now are what we will send.
