After the Shopify import

When the import finishes, you see how many books, editions, readers, orders, discount codes and redirects came over.

Before you switch

Under Before you switch, the report lists what still needs you. Work through it:

1. Upload your files. Ebook and audiobook editions can’t be sold until they have files. See upload your book files.
2. Replace covers we couldn’t copy. The report names each one.
3. Set up your bundles again. See bundles and box sets.
4. Check each book, then publish it. Imported titles are drafts. See publish, archive or delete.

Redirects

Choose Check redirects, or go to the redirects page from Move from Shopify. Each row shows an old address, like /products/my-book, and the page it now opens, like /books/my-book.

The importer adds one for every book. If a Shopify redirect pointed to a page that doesn’t exist in Lanternbee, the report says so. Add your own:

1. Type the Old address, starting with /.
2. Type where it Now goes to.
3. Choose Add redirect.

Choose Remove to delete one.

Switch your address

When your books are ready, point your shop address at Lanternbee. See connect your own domain. Shopify keeps selling until the moment you switch, and old product links in your back matter keep working.

Import again

Earlier imports on the Move from Shopify page lists each import with its date and status. Open one to see its report again.
