Acceptable use and takedown policy
Draft awaiting legal review. It describes how Lanternbee works today but is not yet binding.
Lanternbee is for authors selling their own books and related products. Stores must not be used to:
- sell work you do not have the rights to, including pirated or plagiarised books and AI-generated imitations of other authors’ work presented as theirs;
- sell content that is illegal where the store operates, including sexual content involving minors in any form, content that incites violence, or terrorist content;
- deceive readers, for example with fake reviews, misleading descriptions or phishing;
- send email to people who have not agreed to receive it;
- attack, overload or probe Lanternbee or other stores.
Adult fiction is allowed when it is legal, described honestly and marked with the store’s content warnings.
Reporting content
To report a store or a book, including a copyright claim, email [abuse contact email — to be completed] with the store address, the book, what is wrong and, for copyright, proof that you hold the rights. We acknowledge reports within 2 working days.
What we do
We review each report, contact the author when appropriate and may remove a book or suspend a store. Authors can appeal by replying to our message. Repeated or serious breaches lead to closing the account under the terms of service.
