Readers and what they read, copied to Klaviyo.

Klaviyo is built for stores, and some authors use it for detailed emails based on what readers bought. Connect it once and every reader who signs up or buys from your store is copied as a Klaviyo profile, with tags for the formats and series they own.

What it does in Lanternbee

  • When you connect, every reader who agreed to your emails is copied to Klaviyo.
  • After that, each new newsletter sign-up and each buyer is copied as it happens.
  • Each profile carries your store name and the reader’s tags, such as the formats and series they own, plus lanternbee-buyer or lanternbee-subscriber.
  • Readers who agreed to your emails are subscribed to the Klaviyo list you choose. Buyers who did not are copied as profiles without a subscription.
  • If Klaviyo refuses a reader, Lanternbee keeps the error on the integrations page and carries on.

Limits

  • Copying goes one way, from Lanternbee to Klaviyo. Unsubscribes in Klaviyo do not come back to Lanternbee.
  • Tags arrive as profile properties, not Klaviyo tags. Build segments on those properties.
  • Order details are not sent to Klaviyo, only who the reader is and what they own.
  • Klaviyo’s own limits apply. The free plan stops at 250 profiles.

How to set it up

  1. Create a private API key in Klaviyo

In Klaviyo, go to Settings, then API keys, and create a private key with write access to Profiles and Lists.

  2. Open Integrations in Lanternbee

In your store, go to Newsletters, then Integrations.

  3. Paste the key and list ID

Paste the key, and the ID of the Klaviyo list subscribers should join.

  4. Connect

Tick Copy subscribers and buyers and press Connect. Lanternbee checks the key with Klaviyo, then copies your readers.
